Jeff Evely is a retired 20-year Canadian Armed Forces veteran from Coxheath, Nova Scotia. He enlisted in 2001 as an electronic communications specialist, deploying to Afghanistan and Iraq, serving with NORAD, and participating in the Nijmegen marches. A vocal advocate for individual freedoms and against government overreach, he ran as a People's Party of Canada candidate in the 2025 federal election for Sydney—Glace Bay. He gained wider attention for violating Nova Scotia’s 2025 province-wide woods access ban, receiving a $28,872.50 fine that he challenged in court with the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms; the ban was later struck down as unconstitutional.
