Still Developing — Episode 7: Sifting the Beach

🎧 Listen to the episode

What happens when you turn an AI loose in someone's personal notes and ask it to find the threads?

This episode is about a new practice we've been calling "aping around" — swinging through an Obsidian vault of 2,100+ notes, following links like branches, and weaving syntheses from whatever clusters emerge. The Library of Babel led to consciousness and meaning. Entropy led to attention and devotion. Inside-out submarines led to causal emergence. Kipple led to samizdat and the parallel polis.

Also: the Seroter Daily Reading podcast is now fully automated, we specced out enscript (a markdown-to-TTS converter), and we're prototyping a "digital garden" — a curated information feed where the AI seeks and the human judges.

The thread through all of it: nobody has new ideas. What we have is fragments, and the art is in the assembly. The word for that is recension. And the beach of human culture is infinite, but you sift.
